Our @HPCpodcast guest is pure-play HPC-AI industry analyst Addison Snell, co-founder and CEO of Intersect360 Research, who shareshis thoughts and debates HPC, AI and quantum issues in his engaging way.
We delve into current market sizing for HPC-AI (the conjoining of the two being a relatively new focus for the firm), a look ahead at the rest of the year and the decade, the impact of hyperscalers on AI, the future of leadership computing (exascale.next), AI nationalism, the DeepSeek explosion, Nvidia’s leadership and challenges thereto, the state of quantum computing, AI storage, and optical computing and interconnects.
We also touch on Addison’s passion for crossword puzzles, solving and writing them. His puzzles have been featured in the Wall Street Journal and The New York Times – sorry, in the Sunday New York Times (we couldn’t finish it).
Addison launched his company in 2007 as Tabor Research, a division of Tabor Communications, and brought the company independent in 2009 as Intersect360 with partner Christopher Willard, Ph.D. Previously, he was an HPC industry analyst for IDC and was a marketing leader and spokesperson for SGI’s supercomputing products and strategy.
